Chelsea Park

The neighbourhood of Chelsea Park is part of the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great mode of transportation in Chelsea Park. Nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are very easy to access from anywhere in this part of the municipality, and it is very convenient to park. However, the public transit service in this neighbourhood is quite bad. Walking is not very convenient for property owners in Chelsea Park because carrying out daily needs is challenging on foot. Chelsea Park is also not very suited for cycling since there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and the cycling network is not very well-developed.

Services

High schools and primary schools are not plentiful in Chelsea Park, and consequently not always within walking distance. Furthermore, parents may find it very hard for their children to access daycares on foot. In terms of eating, home buyers in Chelsea Park almost always need a car to purchase their groceries.

Character

The character of Chelsea Park is exemplified by its calm environment. There are a few green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in and they are especially well-distributed, which makes it easy to reach them from most locations in the neighbourhood. This neighbourhood is also fairly good for those who like quiet surroundings, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case closer to Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

The split between homeowners and renters is about even. Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing around 45% of dwellings in this part of West Vancouver, and the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. About one third of properties in this part of the municipality were built after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This area also has a good choice of housing size options; houses range from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
