Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Cammeray is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in Cammeray. Most houses for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, and it is very convenient to park. In contrast, the public transit service in Cammeray is not very frequent. Nonetheless, homeowners have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are generally nearby. The bicycle is a fairly poor method of transportation in Cammeray as there is a significant amount of elevation changes, and the cycling infrastructure is rather limited. This area is also not very suitable for walking since very few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

It is very rarely an option for property owners in Cammeray to purchase groceries on foot. In terms of education, this neighbourhood does not have any high schools or primary schools. Additionally, daycares are not numerous and accordingly may require a very long walk to get to.

Character

The character of Cammeray is exemplified by its calm environment. This part of West Vancouver is especially quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, reaching parks is very easy in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to explore.

Housing

The homes in this area are relatively new, since around 30% of its dwellings were constructed in the 1990s, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. The sizeable percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. Around three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and one quarter are rented. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this part of the municipality.
