The neighbourhood of Westhill is part of the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is very often the preferred method of transportation in Westhill. The majority of real estate listings are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and parking is easy. However, the public transit service in this part of the municipality is not very frequent. Nevertheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. Westhill is not very convenient for walking because running daily errands is sometimes difficult. This part of the municipality is also not very amenable to biking as riding is rendered strenuous by the typically hilly topography, and the bicycling infrastructure is rather limited. Nevertheless, people often decide to travel by bike.

Services

Property owners in this area almost always need a car to access the closest grocery store. When it comes to education, parents and their kids will welcome that no matter where their house is located in this part of the municipality, both primary and secondary schools are close by. In contrast, daycares are not particularly abundant and therefore tend to require an extended walk to get to.

Character

There is a great variety of green spaces in Westhill. Parks are especially well-situated and there are a few of them close by for residents to discover, making them very easy to reach. Since there are very few people out and about on the streets, this neighbourhood remains relatively serene.

Housing

The homes in this area are relatively new, because about one third of its dwellings were constructed in the 1990s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in this part of West Vancouver. Roughly three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. Notably, this part of West Vancouver is good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes.
