The neighbourhood of Whitby Estates can be found in the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is an extraordinarily convenient part of West Vancouver for moving around by car. It is a reasonably short car ride to the nearest highway from any home in Whitby Estates, and it is especially convenient to find a parking spot. However, public transit users may experience limited choices in this neighbourhood as a result of the service's low frequency. It is very impractical for pedestrians to navigate Whitby Estates since meeting daily needs is challenging. Getting around by bicycle is also difficult in this neighbourhood because the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and riding is made strenuous by the typically steep topography.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Whitby Estates. Likewise, there are only a very small number of daycares and consequently they can be a very long walk away. In terms of food, home buyers in Whitby Estates almost always have to turn to a car to travel to the closest grocery store.

Character

The character of Whitby Estates is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. This area is great for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, green spaces are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover, which makes it very easy to access them from most locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

Roughly 90% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 10% are rented. In this part of West Vancouver, roughly 45% of buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Around one third of properties in this part of the municipality were constructed after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
