Transportation

The public transit network in Bay Ridges is good. In particular, the closest train station, such as the Pickering Station on the Lakeshore East Line, is ordinarily within walking distance from the bulk of houses in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. On the other hand, cycling is challenging in Bay Ridges since cyclists encounter quite a few elevation changes, and there are few bike lanes. There aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of this neighbourhood, although carrying out daily needs is convenient by walking. In contrast, cars are a great mode of transportation in Bay Ridges. It is a short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 401, from any location in this area, and it is very convenient to park.

As far as food is concerned, it is typically practical for house buyers in this area to do their grocery shopping on foot. Residents are served by about 10 restaurants and cafes as well.

In Bay Ridges, about 40% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the houses are mainly large apartment buildings, duplexes, and townhouses. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the properties in Bay Ridges while the rest are rented. A majority of the housing growth in this part of the city took place between 1960 and 1980.
