Beaton is a neighbourhood within Oshawa, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Oshawa metropolitan area.

Transportation

Moving around by car is very convenient in this neighbourhood. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 401, are very easy to drive to from any location in this area. On the other hand, Beaton is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. Although cycling is more feasible in certain pockets than others, it is difficult to commute by bike in this area since the bicycling infrastructure is quite bad, and there are a good number of hills. It is also inconvenient for pedestrians to move around in Beaton since few daily errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle.

Services

Beaton does not contain any high schools or primary schools. In addition, parents and their children may consider it very hard to access daycares as a pedestrian. Concerning eating, it is very rarely feasible for home buyers in Beaton to travel to the nearest grocery store on foot.

Character

There is a fairly good selection of green spaces in Beaton. There are a few parks nearby for residents to relax in, making them easy to access. This part of Oshawa can be rather noisy, as during busy hours, traffic can occasionally be bothersome.
