Transportation

Driving is very often the preferred mode of transportation in Devil's Elbow. It is especially convenient to park, and many homes for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway. However, the public transit service in this area is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are commonly nearby. This part of the city is not very suitable for those who travel by foot since running daily errands is impractical. Travelling by bicycle is also occasionally difficult in Devil's Elbow because there are a good number of hills to challenge cyclists, and the bicycling infrastructure is not especially well-developed.

Services

Shopping for one's groceries usually requires the use of a car in this area. When it comes to education, there are only a few primary schools in this neighbourhood and consequently they can be an extended walk away. Likewise, this area does not contain any high schools. In addition, families may find it difficult for their kids to access daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

Devil's Elbow is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. Parks are easy to access since there are a few of them close by for residents to enjoy. This area is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Devil's Elbow is an important part of its character. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this area. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters. This part of Markham experienced its most significant construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era.
