Victoria Square

Located within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Victoria Square is a neighbourhood in Markham, Ontario.

Transportation

Cars are a great medium of transportation in this neighbourhood. Most properties for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 404, and it is very convenient to park. On the other hand, public transit users may have very limited choices in this area by reason of the infrequent service. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. It is challenging to move around by bike in this neighbourhood because there are a fair number of slopes, and the bicycling infrastructure is rather poor. Many of the homes for sale in this part of Markham are located in places that are also not very convenient for those who travel by foot because carrying out daily needs is difficult.

Services

Primary schools are easy to get to on foot from most houses for sale in this area. On the other hand, this neighbourhood does not have any high schools. Concerning eating, a vehicle is typically needed in Victoria Square to reach the nearest supermarket. A limited number of restaurants can be found in Victoria Square.

Character

People who prefer a slower-paced environment will enjoy Victoria Square. There are a few green spaces close by for residents to visit, which makes them easy to access from many locations in this area. The noise levels in this part of Markham are also reasonably low, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around Highway 404.

Housing

Homeowners occupy about 90% of the units in the neighbourhood and 10% are occupied by renters. In this area, the majority of dwellings are townhouses, and the rest of the houses are mainly single detached homes. This part of Markham experienced its most significant building boom after the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this time period. This neighbourhood is notable for those looking for four or more bedroom homes.
