Devil's Elbow is a neighbourhood within Markham, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.
Transportation
Driving is a great medium of transportation in Devil's Elbow. Finding a place to park is generally easy, and most houses for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway. On the other hand, residents using public transit may find few options in Devil's Elbow by reason of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Cycling is occasionally difficult in this part of Markham because the terrain is not particularly flat, and there are a limited number of bike lanes. It is also challenging for people travelling on foot to navigate Devil's Elbow as many daily needs are impractical to carry out without a vehicle.
Services
There are only a very small number of primary schools in Devil's Elbow and accordingly they can be a very long stroll away. Moreover, this area does not have any high schools. In addition, families may find it difficult to reach daycares by walking. With respect to eating, property owners in Devil's Elbow almost always have to rely on a car to travel to the nearest grocery store.
Character
The character of Devil's Elbow is exemplified by its relaxed environment. Getting to public green spaces is easy in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in. This part of the city is also very quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic.
Housing
The predominant housing types in Devil's Elbow are single detached homes and townhouses. Most housing in this neighbourhood was built following the year 2000, during its biggest building boom. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this part of Markham. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters.
