Transportation

This part of Markham is quite well-suited for walking; many daily needs can be met on foot. However, commuting by bicycle is at times challenging in Unionville as there are few bike lanes, and the terrain is not particularly flat. Cars are a great mode of transportation in this neighbourhood. Nearby highways, such as Highway 407, are reasonably easy to drive to from any location in this area, and it is straightforward to park. On the other hand, public transit users may find few choices in this neighbourhood due to the infrequent service. Nonetheless, residents can rely on the Unionville Station with access to the Stouffville Line. The closest rapid transit station, such as Kennedy Rd / Hwy 7, Highway 7 / Kennedy Rd and Rivis Rd / Ymca Blvd on the purple | VIVA PURPLE, is ordinarily a short walk away from the greater part of houses in the neighbourhood. There are about 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and the closest bus stop is usually very close.

Services

Getting to the closest supermarket on foot is practical for some, but not all, house buyers in this neighbourhood. Conversely, Unionville is a fairly good place in which to eat out, and residents are served by a few cafes as well. Regarding education, it is a reasonably short walk to access schools and daycares from anywhere in Unionville.

Character

The character of Unionville is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. There are around 10 parks nearby for residents to enjoy and they are especially well-located, making them easy to get to. This neighbourhood is also reasonably good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to Highway 407 or the railway line.
