Country Hills is a neighbourhood within Kitchener, Ontario, which is located in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a very good means of transportation in this area. It is convenient to come across a place to park, and many real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway. However, the public transit system in Country Hills is not particularly practical. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Travelling by foot is not very popular in this part of the city, although running common errands is convenient. However, it is easy to commute by bike in Country Hills because the bicycling infrastructure is very good.

Services

Primary schools are very easy to get to on foot from anywhere in Country Hills. On the other hand, Country Hills does not have any high schools. Regarding eating, the nearest supermarket in this part of the city is typically only a reasonably short walk away. Residents of Country Hills are served by a few restaurants as well.

Character

The character of Country Hills is exemplified by its relaxed environment. Public green spaces are very easy to access since there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore. This area is quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing roughly 45% of dwellings in Country Hills, while large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. There are equal parts owners and renters living in this neighbourhood. Roughly half of properties in this part of Kitchener were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s.
