Town Centre is a neighbourhood within Pickering, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent means of transportation in Town Centre. Coming across a parking spot is generally easy, and most of the street infrastructure is made for driving. This part of the city is also transit friendly. For instance, Property owners benefit from about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Town Centre, although meeting daily needs is convenient on foot. Although some pleasant sectors for bicycling can be found, Town Centre is also not very suited for bicycling as there are few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of hills.

Services

It is usually practical for house buyers in Town Centre to do their grocery shopping by walking. Likewise, there are a good number of opportunities for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. House buyers have access to a fair number of clothing stores within walking distance. As far as education is concerned, daycares and primary schools are easy to walk to from most properties for sale in Town Centre. However, this part of the city does not have any high schools.

Character

Thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, Town Centre is relatively quiet; however those who are closer to Highway 401 or the railway line may experience more noise. Green spaces aren't well-spread out, resulting in them being very hard to get to from a lot of locations within this neighbourhood. Still, there are a few parks nearby for residents to check out.

Housing

About two thirds of dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Town Centre, while townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around three quarters of the units in Town Centre while the remainder are rented. This neighbourhood did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new buildings in Town Centre was spread throughout many decades in recent history.
