Town Centre

The neighbourhood of Town Centre can be found in the city of Pickering, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of Pickering enables property owners to travel using various modes of transportation. It is convenient for pedestrians to get around in this part of the city; most daily needs are easy to meet without having to resort to a vehicle, and numerous businesses are reasonably close by. However, the bike is a somewhat poor method of transportation in Town Centre because the bicycling infrastructure is sometimes poor, and there are a fair number of slopes. Nevertheless, riding a bike is more practical in certain pockets than others. Commuting by public transit is convenient in this part of Pickering owing to Pickering with access to the Lakeshore East, and approximately 10 nearby bus lines. Town Centre is also very car friendly. Nearby highways, such as Highway 401, are very easy to drive to from any home in Town Centre, and it is convenient to park.

Services

A supermarket is ordinarily reachable within a short walk from any home in this part of Pickering. Likewise, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a good number of opportunities, and a small variety of cafes is available as well. As far as education is concerned, it is a reasonably short walk to access primary schools and daycares from anywhere in Town Centre. On the other hand, there are no high schools in Town Centre.

Character

Town Centre is good for those who prefer quiet areas, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case near Highway 401 or the railway line. Even though this area is not known for its vibrancy, the vibe is still quite energetic around its busier streets. Green spaces aren't well-situated, resulting in them being very hard to reach from many locations in this neighbourhood.

Housing

In Town Centre, about two thirds of dwellings are large apartment buildings, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and two bedroom homes. About 70% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. This part of the city did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new homes in Town Centre was spread throughout multiple decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century.
