Freeman

The neighbourhood of Freeman can be found in the city of Burlington, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Thanks to Burlington on the Lakeshore West, and approximately 10 nearby bus lines, Freeman is reasonably transit friendly. On the other hand, travelling by foot is not very popular in this neighbourhood, despite the fact that many common errands can be run on foot, and there are also a good number of businesses in proximity. The bike is a rather poor means of transportation in Freeman since the bicycling infrastructure is rather limited. Nonetheless, some bicycling-friendly pockets exist, and there are a limited number of slopes for cyclists to brave. However, Freeman is an extraordinarily good part of Burlington for travelling by car. The majority of real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, and it is especially convenient to come across a place to park.

Services

It is generally an option for property owners in Freeman to shop for their groceries by walking. Furthermore, those who enjoy dining in restaurants or cafes will have a good number of opportunities in this neighbourhood. As far as education is concerned, families will appreciate that wherever their property is situated in this area, daycares are close by. However, there are only a limited number of primary schools in Freeman and accordingly they can be a long walk away. In addition, Freeman does not have any high schools.

Character

Freeman offers a reasonably good selection of green spaces to enjoy. It is easy to get to parks from numerous locations within the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to check out. Lastly, thanks to the presence of few people out and about on the streets, this part of the city remains relatively quiet, although those who are around the railway line, Queen Elizabeth Way or Highway 403 may experience higher levels of noise.

Housing

In Freeman, about 55% of dwellings are large apartment buildings, while the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and single detached homes. This neighbourhood also has a good variety of unit sizes; notably, this area is good for those looking for two bedroom homes. Nearly 105% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. Most homes in this neighbourhood were constructed after the year 2000, during its biggest building boom.
