Situated within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Caulfeild is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

The best way to move around in this neighbourhood is usually driving. Parking is quite easy, and it is a reasonably short car ride to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any home in Caulfeild. In contrast, the public transit service in Caulfeild is not very frequent. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most properties. Travelling on foot is not very practical for home buyers in Caulfeild since most daily needs are very difficult to carry out by walking. This part of West Vancouver is also not very cycling-friendly as cyclists are faced with a significant amount of slopes, and there are few bike lanes.

Services

Families will welcome the proximity to primary schools, which are within walking distance from the majority of properties for sale in this area. In contrast, it can be challenging to get to high schools as a pedestrian. When it comes to eating, accessing the closest supermarket on foot is feasible for some, but not all, home buyers in this neighbourhood. A small selection of restaurants and cafes can be found as well.

Character

The character of Caulfeild is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. This part of West Vancouver is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially near Trans-Canada Highway or the railway line. Lastly, getting to public green spaces is easy in the neighbourhood since there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to explore.

Housing

In Caulfeild, the vast majority of dwellings are single detached homes, while townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Around 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1980 and 1990, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This part of the municipality offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly 95% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the remainder are renters.
