The neighbourhood of Deer Ridge can be found in the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is usually the favoured approach to navigate this neighbourhood. Most of the street network is appropriate for cars, and accessing a parking spot is easy. On the other hand, commuting by public transit is very difficult in Deer Ridge. Deer Ridge is not very bicycling-friendly because the bicycling infrastructure is quite poor, and bicycling is rendered strenuous by the often hilly topography. Travelling on foot is also not very practical for residents in this part of the municipality since running common errands is inconvenient by walking.

Services

It is a very short walk to access both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in this part of West Vancouver. However, there are only a few daycares and thus they can be a rather long walk away. Concerning food, a vehicle is almost always required in Deer Ridge to reach the closest grocery store.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Deer Ridge. There are a few parks nearby for residents to unwind in and they are especially well-situated, which results in them being easy to reach from most locations within this area. Due to the presence of very few pedestrians, this neighbourhood is relatively calm.

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing roughly 40% of dwellings in Deer Ridge, while large apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. Roughly 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the rest are renters.
