Caulfeild

Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Caulfeild is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in Caulfeild. The majority of properties for sale are a rather short drive from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is very convenient to park. In contrast, the public transit service in Caulfeild is not very frequent. Nonetheless, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Caulfeild is not very cycling-friendly since there is a significant amount of slopes, and the bicycling network is rather limited. Most homes for sale in this area are located in places that are also not very convenient for walking as carrying out daily needs is inconvenient.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to access schools and daycares from any location in Caulfeild. As far as food is concerned, some, but not all, home buyers in this area will reside within walking distance of the closest grocery store. A small selection of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

Caulfeild is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. Public green spaces are easy to reach since there are about 30 of them nearby for residents to explore. Most areas in this neighbourhood are quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case closer to the railway line or Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

About 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in this neighbourhood. Around 30% of properties in this part of the municipality were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. Notably, this neighbourhood is good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes.
