Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, North York is a former municipality within Toronto, Ontario.

Transportation

North York enables homeowners to get around by various means of transportation. Owing to various rapid transit stations on the Viva Blue, Line 1 (Yonge-University) and Line 4 (Sheppard), and over 100 nearby bus lines, the public transit network in this former municipality is quite accessible. North York is also a fairly pleasant part of Toronto for pedestrians; many daily errands can be run without having to resort to a vehicle, and there are also a good number of businesses nearby. Commuting by bicycle is easy in this part of Toronto.

It is very easy to reach the nearest supermarket on foot in North York. Character

North York offers a slower-paced ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time in green spaces. Most areas in this area are quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some areas can be quite loud, especially closer to one of the railway lines, one of the 2 airports (Toronto (Sunnybrook Medical Centre) Heliport,Downsview Airport), Highway 407 or Allen Expressway. Lastly, there is a fair amount of greenery in this part of Toronto as most streets have reasonably good tree coverage. Accessing parks in the former municipality, including Four Winds Allotment Gardens and North York Hydro Green Space, is very easy since there are over 700 of them nearby for residents to enjoy.
