Woodlands is a neighbourhood within Pickering, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Woodlands is especially car friendly. It is very easy to park, and most homes for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401. In contrast, public transit riders may find limited options in Woodlands by reason of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, residents benefit from a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Even though some enjoyable pockets for cycling can be found, getting around by bicycle is difficult in Woodlands because there are a fair number of slopes to challenge cyclists, and there are few bike lanes. Travelling by foot is also not very common in Woodlands, although many daily needs are convenient to carry out on foot.

Services

The closest grocery store in Woodlands is generally only a very short walk away. Moreover, home buyers won't have to go far to take advantage of the closest coffee shop, and there are also a limited number of opportunities for those who value close by restaurants. Regarding education, it is a reasonably short walk to get to schools and daycares from anywhere in Woodlands.

Character

There is a good selection of green spaces in Woodlands. Although the neighbourhood is not home to any parks, green spaces are especially well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, making them easy to reach. This part of Pickering is relatively quiet, since there are few people out and about on the streets; however noise levels are higher closer to Highway 401 or the railway line.

Housing

In Woodlands, around 60% of buildings are single detached homes, and the remainder are mainly duplexes. About 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
