Lakeview

Lakeview is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Active home buyers will welcome the quite pedestrian-friendly nature of this area; most daily needs are easy to carry out by walking. Travelling by bicycle is also convenient in Lakeview. Public transit users may find few choices in Lakeview by reason of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. However, the favoured way to navigate Lakeview is usually driving. Parking is quite easy, and it is a rather short car ride to the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, from any location in this area.

Services

In this neighbourhood, parents and their children will usually be able to reach daycares and schools by walking. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. As far as eating is concerned, home buyers in this area will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a short walk away. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who value restaurants and cafes within walking distance.

Character

The character of Lakeview is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. Greenery is prominent in this part of Mississauga as there are many tree-lined streets. There are approximately 40 public green spaces close by for residents to relax in, like Lakefront Promenade and Serson Park, and they are especially well-situated, which makes it easy to get to them. This neighbourhood is also reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case closer to Queen Elizabeth Way or the railway line.

Housing

In Lakeview, around half of dwellings are single detached homes, while the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings. This neighbourhood has a good choice of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. Around one third of homes in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s.
