Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in this part of Kitchener. Nearby highways are reasonably easy to access from anywhere in this area, and parking is quite easy. On the other hand, Country Hills East is not an especially pleasant part of Kitchener for getting around by public transit. Nevertheless, house owners are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close. Travelling by foot in this area is not very common, despite the fact that most daily needs are easy to carry out without the use of a vehicle. In contrast, it is easy to get around by bicycle in Country Hills East since there are a fair number of bike lanes.

Services

In this neighbourhood, parents and their children will generally be able to reach both primary and secondary schools on foot. In contrast, daycares are not especially numerous and thus not always within walking distance. Regarding food, some property owners in Country Hills East may be able to travel to the nearest grocery store on foot, while others will have to rely on another means of transportation. There are also a limited number of options for those who value close by restaurants and cafes.

Character

There is a vast selection of green spaces in Country Hills East. This part of the city is relatively quiet, thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, although there can be more noise for those who are closer to one of the railway lines.

Large apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing about half of buildings in Country Hills East, while single detached homes are the main alternative in the housing stock. This neighbourhood experienced its largest building boom after the year 2000, so most of the available housing is from this time period.
