Casablanca & Area

Casablanca & Area is a neighbourhood within Grimsby, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is very often the favoured method to navigate Casablanca & Area. It is a short car ride to the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, from any location in this area, and it is very convenient to park. It is inconvenient for people travelling on foot to move around in this neighbourhood as very few common errands can be run without a car. Casablanca & Area is also not very cycling-friendly as there are a good number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and the cycling network is fairly poor.

Services

Reaching the nearest grocery store without the use of a vehicle is feasible for some, but not all, home buyers in Casablanca & Area. Residents benefit from around 10 restaurants and cafes as well. Regarding education, primary schools tend to be a very long trip away, and there are no high schools in Casablanca & Area. In addition, it can be very difficult to access daycares from properties for sale in Casablanca & Area.

Character

Casablanca & Area offers a slower-paced ambience. Casablanca & Area is reasonably good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case closer to Queen Elizabeth Way or the railway line. Parks are distributed sporadically, making them very hard to reach.

Housing

Around three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one quarter are renters. Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing roughly half of dwellings in this part of Grimsby, while the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood experienced its main construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era. This area also has a good choice of unit sizes - it is quite easy to find homes ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
