Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in Dean Park. Parking is generally easy, and the majority of real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 401. However, the transit infrastructure in Dean Park is somewhat poor. Nevertheless, there are approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most residences. Dean Park is reasonably suited for biking. Most homes for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are not especially convenient for people who like to get around on foot as meeting daily needs is occasionally difficult without a car.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are easy to reach on foot from most properties for sale in this neighbourhood. In contrast, there are only a very small number of high schools and consequently they can be a very long trip away. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. As far as food is concerned, a car is generally required in this part of Toronto to access the closest supermarket. Nonetheless, reaching the nearest pharmacy and thus some basic food items is usually very easy. There are also a few opportunities for those who care about restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

Character

The character of Dean Park is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. Most areas in this part of the city are quiet, as the streets are quite tranquil - although there are still several louder areas, especially near Highway 401 or Highway 2a. Lastly, greenery is not very present in this part of Toronto; although, it is very easy to access parks from most locations in the neighbourhood, since the majority of houses for sale have one around the corner and there are approximately 30 parks nearby for residents to explore.

Housing

In Dean Park, around 40% of buildings are single detached homes, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 70% of the units in Dean Park while the remainder are rented. About 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s.
