Onslow

The community of Onslow is part of the subdivision of a county municipality of Colchester Subdivision B, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Truro metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of Colchester Subdivision B is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to find a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 104, are quite easy to access from any home in Onslow. It is very difficult to commute by bike in this community as there are a fair number of slopes, and the bicycling network is not very extensive. Travelling on foot is also not very practical for residents in Onslow since very few common errands can be run on foot.

Services

High schools are not numerous in this community, and accordingly often beyond walking distance, and there are no primary schools. In terms of eating, in all cases, a car is required in Onslow to access the nearest grocery store.

Character

Onslow is fairly good for those who like quiet areas, as the streets are generally reasonably peaceful - although there are still several noisier sections, especially around Highway 104 or the railway line.
