The community of Onslow can be found in the subdivision of a county municipality of Colchester Subdivision B, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Truro metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is very often the best approach to navigate Onslow. Nearby highways, such as Highway 104, are reasonably easy to reach from any location in Onslow, and it is very convenient to access a place to park. Walking is not very practical for property owners in this community because almost no common errands can be run without the use of a car. Onslow is also not very appropriate for cycling because the topography is not particularly flat, and the bicycling network is not very well-developed.

Services

Shopping for one's groceries usually requires the use of a car in this community. Concerning education, there are only a few high schools in Onslow and accordingly they can be a long walk away. Moreover, this part of Colchester Subdivision B does not have any primary schools. Furthermore, daycares are not abundant and consequently may require a very long walk to get to.

Character

Onslow is fairly good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although there are still several noisier areas, especially around Highway 104 or the railway line.
