Part of the Greater Saint John metropolitan area, Champlain Heights is a neighbourhood within Saint John, New Brunswick.

Transportation

Cars are a very good mode of transportation in Champlain Heights. It is very easy to come across a place to park. In contrast, Champlain Heights is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most homes. The bike is a sometimes poor means of transportation in Champlain Heights since there is a considerable amount of slopes, and there are few bike lanes. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are also not very suitable for walking because very few common errands can be run on foot.

Services

Primary schools and daycares are easy to reach on foot from most houses for sale in this part of the city. On the other hand, this part of Saint John does not contain any high schools. Regarding eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed to buy groceries. A limited variety of coffee shops can be found.

Character

Champlain Heights is very quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Parks are sparse, resulting in them being occasionally challenging to get to from a large number of locations within this part of the city. Still, there are a few green spaces close by for residents to visit.

The housing stock of Champlain Heights is composed predominantly of single detached homes and row houses. A majority of the housing growth in this area occurred in the 1960s and 1970s. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the rest are renters.
