Deer Ridge

Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Deer Ridge is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent means of transportation in Deer Ridge. It is very easy to park, and many homes for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. In contrast, the public transit network in Deer Ridge is not very accessible. Commuting by bicycle is very hard in Deer Ridge because there is a significant amount of slopes, and the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive. This area is also not very suitable for walking as very few day-to-day errands can be run on foot.

Services

It is a very short walk to access both primary and secondary schools from most homes for sale in this area. However, families may find it challenging to get to daycares on foot. With respect to food, shopping for one's groceries usually necessitates the use of a vehicle in this neighbourhood.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Deer Ridge. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in and they are especially well-distributed, making it easy to access them. Lastly, this part of West Vancouver is a great area for those who don't mind a bit of noise, as traffic during busy hours can occasionally be loud.

Housing

In Deer Ridge, around 40% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. About 40% of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s. This part of West Vancouver is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder.
