Bayridge

Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Bayridge is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Driving is a great medium of transportation in Bayridge. Nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are very easy to reach from anywhere in Bayridge, and it is especially convenient to park. However, the public transit in this area is not very accessible. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. It is challenging for people travelling by foot to navigate Bayridge since very few common errands can be run without needing a vehicle. Bayridge is also not very bicycling-friendly as there is a considerable amount of hills, and the cycling infrastructure is rather limited.

Services

Families will welcome that wherever their house is located in Bayridge, primary schools and daycares are nearby. In contrast, this part of the municipality does not have any high schools. In terms of eating, a vehicle is almost always required in Bayridge to reach the nearest grocery store.

Character

Bayridge offers a calm environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to unwind in and they are especially well-situated, which makes it easy to reach them. This part of West Vancouver is also fairly good for those who need quiet surroundings, as the streets are generally tranquil - although that is not the case near Trans-Canada Highway or the railway line.

Housing

In Bayridge, the overwhelming majority of buildings are single detached homes, while duplexes make up most of the remaining housing stock. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 20% are rented. Around 45% of homes in this neighbourhood were built between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960.
