Transportation

Property owners in this part of the city are provided with various alternatives to travel without using a car. South Cambie is especially suitable for those who travel by foot; many daily needs are very convenient to meet on foot, and there are also numerous businesses close by. Riding a bike is especially popular in this area as a bike share station can always be found in close proximity, and there are a fair number of bike lanes. With various nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Canada Line, and a few nearby bus lines, the public transit system in this area is very practical. On the other hand, commuting by car is difficult in South Cambie as coming across a place to park is not very easy.

Services

In this neighbourhood, parents and their children will usually be able to get to schools and daycares on foot. In addition to public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools. When it comes to food, it is very easy to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from any home in this neighbourhood. Additionally, there are a good number of opportunities in close proximity for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes.

South Cambie has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Finding things to do is easy in this neighbourhood. Although the nightlife is quiet, few entertainment venues can be found nearby, and the streets are very often busy with people. Most areas in South Cambie are quiet, as the streets tend to be quite tranquil - although that is not the case around the airport (Vancouver (Children & Women's Health Centre) Heliport). Getting to public green spaces, like Douglas Park, is easy from many locations within the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out.

Housing

In South Cambie, roughly 40% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, and the remaining properties are mainly large apartment buildings, duplexes, and single detached homes. This area has a good choice of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the rest are renters.
