Located within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Oakridge is a neighbourhood in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Oakridge permits house buyers to get around by a diversity of methods of transportation. Owing to various nearby rapid transit stations on the Canada Line, and a few nearby bus lines, this part of the city is quite transit friendly. This part of Vancouver will also appeal to physically active house buyers as it is reasonably conducive to those who travel by foot; many common errands can be run on foot, and a variety of businesses are nearby. This area is conducive to biking since the bicycling network is quite well-developed.

Services

Reaching the closest supermarket on foot is an option for some, but not all, house buyers in Oakridge. Conversely, this part of the city is a good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe. In terms of education, daycares and schools are very easy to get to on foot from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood. Residents have the choice between public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level.

Character

Oakridge offers a relaxed atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Reaching green spaces in the neighbourhood, like Tisdall Park and Langara Golf Course, is easy since there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover. The noise levels in this part of the city are also very low, as the streets tend to be very tranquil.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing about 40% of dwellings in Oakridge, whereas the rest are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and duplexes. This part of the city has a good variety of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
