Eagle Harbour

Eagle Harbour is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

The favoured means of transportation in this neighbourhood is usually a car. Parking is generally easy, and nearby highways, such as Highway 99, are very easy to access from anywhere in this neighbourhood. However, the public transit system in Eagle Harbour is rather limited. Nevertheless, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses. Eagle Harbour is not particularly amenable to cycling since there are few bike lanes, and there is a significant amount of elevation changes. Thankfully, riding a bike is more feasible in certain pockets than others. Traveling on foot is also not very convenient for residents in Eagle Harbour because almost no common errands can be run without a car.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are convenient to get to as a pedestrian from most homes for sale in Eagle Harbour. However, this neighbourhood does not have any high schools. Regarding food, a car is typically required in Eagle Harbour to reach the closest supermarket.

Character

The character of Eagle Harbour is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. There are approximately 10 parks nearby for residents to explore, which makes them easy to reach from a lot of locations in the neighbourhood. This area is also quiet, as the streets are generally quite tranquil - although there are still several noisier sections, especially closer to Trans-Canada Highway, Highway 99 or the railway line.

Housing

Homeowners occupy nearly 90% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood while the remainder are rented. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. About one third of properties in this area were built between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the municipality offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
