Town Centre

Located within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Town Centre is a neighbourhood in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

Transportation

Active people will appreciate the pedestrian-friendly nature of Town Centre; many day-to-day needs can be carried out on foot, and there are also a fair number of businesses nearby. In contrast, moving around by bicycle is sometimes difficult in this area since the cycling network is not especially extensive, and riding is rendered arduous by the typically sloping terrain. Cars are a reasonably good mode of transportation in this part of the city. Coming across a place to park is quite easy, and many houses for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway. In contrast, Town Centre is not especially transit friendly. Thankfully, train stations, including the Port Haney Station Eastbound and Port Haney Station Westbound with access to the West Coast Express, are not especially far-removed from the greater part of houses in the neighbourhood. Property owners benefit from around 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally very close.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to reach schools and daycares from most properties for sale in Town Centre. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. As far as food is concerned, a supermarket is ordinarily accessible within a very short walk from anywhere in this part of the city. A small variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well.

Character

The character of Town Centre is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to the railway line. Lastly, public green spaces are especially well-situated and there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to discover, resulting in them being easy to access from the majority of locations in Town Centre.

Housing

Most dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Town Centre, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. This part of the city offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 55% of the properties in Town Centre and the remainder are rented. About one third of homes in this neighbourhood were built following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
