Most houses for sale in this part of Maple Ridge are located in areas that are reasonably conducive to walking; running daily errands is convenient on foot, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. However, Town Centre is not particularly suited for bicycling since there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and the bicycling infrastructure is not especially well-developed. The car is often the preferred approach to navigate this area. It is easy to park, and it is a rather short drive to the nearest highway from anywhere in Town Centre. However, the public transit service in this part of the city is somewhat poor. Nevertheless, it is easy to come across a nearby train station, such as the Port Haney Station Westbound and Port Haney Station Eastbound on the West Coast Express, from the majority of homes in the neighbourhood. Homeowners have access to approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses.

It is a short walk to reach daycares and schools from anywhere in this area. At the primary level, both public and private schools can be found. Regarding food, the closest grocery store in this area is typically only a very short walk away. In addition, there are a fair number of choices in close proximity for those who value restaurants and cafes.

Town Centre is a good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. There are about 10 parks nearby for residents to enjoy and they are especially well-situated, making them easy to get to. This area is also reasonably good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case around the railway line.

About one third of homes in Town Centre were constructed after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. In this area, most buildings are small apartment buildings, while large apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock.
