Ruskin

Located within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Ruskin is a neighbourhood within Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

Transportation

Driving is usually the favoured way to navigate Ruskin. It is very easy to find a parking spot. Walking is not very convenient for property owners in this area because running common errands is very impractical without the use of a vehicle. This neighbourhood is also not particularly amenable to biking since the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and bike riders are faced with a significant amount of elevation changes.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Ruskin. As far as food is concerned, it is very rarely feasible for house buyers in this part of the city to do groceries by walking.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a relaxed ambience will enjoy Ruskin. Ruskin is especially quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Green spaces are sparse, which results in them being rather difficult to access from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood. Despite that, there are a few parks close by for residents to check out, including Ruskin.

Housing

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Ruskin is an important part of its character. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the dwellings in Ruskin while the remainder are rented. About one third of homes in this part of the city were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1990s.
