Character

Ruskin is especially quiet, as the streets are very tranquil. Public green spaces are sparse, which makes them rather challenging to get to. Still, there are a few parks nearby for residents to relax in, including Ruskin.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Ruskin are single detached homes and row houses. This part of the city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood whereas the remainder are rented. About one third of properties in this part of Maple Ridge were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1990s.
