Lions Gate is a neighbourhood within District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is a fairly convenient part of District of North Vancouver for pedestrians; meeting daily needs is easy by walking, and plenty of businesses are reasonably close by. In contrast, cycling is sometimes challenging in Lions Gate as there is a considerable amount of elevation changes. Nonetheless, there are a fair number of bike lanes. Residents using public transit may find limited choices in this area as a result of the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. On the other hand, cars are a very good means of transportation in Lions Gate. It is convenient to park, and it is a very short car ride to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any home in this area.

Services

It is convenient to access both a general and a specialty grocery store by walking from any location in Lions Gate. In addition, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a fair number of options. Concerning education, parents and their kids will welcome that no matter where their property is located in this neighbourhood, primary schools and daycares are close by. In contrast, there are no high schools in Lions Gate.

Character

The character of Lions Gate is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to relax in, like Capilano River Regional Park, and they are very well-situated, which makes them very easy to get to. Most areas in this part of the municipality are reasonably quiet, as the streets are usually tranquil - however noise can be an issue around Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

In Lions Gate, the vast majority of dwellings are large apartment buildings, and the rest are mainly single detached homes. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood happened between 1960 and 1980. This area offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes. The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even.
