Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Pemberton Heights is a neighbourhood within District of North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Pemberton Heights will draw physically active people since it is suitable for cycling. In particular, the bicycling infrastructure is reasonably good. This neighbourhood is also quite suitable for walking; many daily needs can be met without the use of a car, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. The public transit network in Pemberton Heights is rather poor. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. In contrast, driving is very often the preferred mode of transportation in Pemberton Heights. It is easy to park, and it is a very short drive to the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from anywhere in this area.

Services

Accessing the nearest supermarket on foot is practical for some, but not all, home buyers in this part of District of North Vancouver. Residents of this neighbourhood can enjoy a few restaurants as well. Concerning education, parents and their kids will appreciate that wherever their property is located in this part of District of North Vancouver, primary schools and daycares are close by. However, Pemberton Heights does not contain any high schools.

Character

The character of Pemberton Heights is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. Most areas in this neighbourhood are reasonably quiet, as the streets tend to be tranquil - although there are still several noisier sections, especially closer to Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, green spaces are very well-situated and there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to enjoy, resulting in them being very easy to access from a large number of locations within Pemberton Heights.

Housing

In Pemberton Heights, most dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and duplexes make up most of the remaining housing stock. Around 30% of properties in this area were constructed pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s. This part of District of North Vancouver also has a good selection of unit sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder.
