The neighbourhood of HoMa South is part of the city of Montréal, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

HoMa South will please property owners that appreciate a variety of methods of transportation. Driving is a great transportation option in this area. Parking is generally easy, and the majority of properties for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Transcanadienne. HoMa South is also quite transit friendly. House owners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. Biking is easy in HoMa South because the cycling network is good, and cyclists do not face serious hills. However, there aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of this area, even though running common errands is easy.

Services

It is convenient to access the closest supermarket on foot from most properties for sale in HoMa South. There are also a few cafes in this area. With respect to education, it is a reasonably short walk to reach primary schools and daycares from most properties for sale in this part of Montréal. In contrast, HoMa South does not contain any high schools.

Character

There is a good selection of green spaces in HoMa South. To be more precise, it is easy to get to public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in. At the same time, many streets have quite bad tree coverage. This area remains relatively quiet, due to the presence of few pedestrians, although noise levels are higher closer to one of the railway lines or Autoroute 25.

Housing

Small apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in HoMa South, and the remaining dwellings are mainly duplexes and single detached homes. This part of the city is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home and the remainder are owners. This part of Montréal experienced its biggest building boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available housing is from this time period.
