Transportation

Cars are a great transportation option in Lakeshore. Many real estate listings are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir, and parking is generally easy. However, public transit users may experience limited choices in Lakeshore due to the low service level. Nevertheless, residents benefit from the Gare Baie-d'Urfé on the 11 - Vaudreuil/Hudson. The neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. The bicycle is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in Lakeshore as the topography is not particularly flat, and there are few bike lanes. Lakeshore is also not very conducive to walking because common amenities such as banks or liquor stores can be a rather long walk away.

Services

Parents and their children will value that no matter where their property is situated in this neighbourhood, both primary and secondary schools are close by. Families are served by public and private elementary schools. In contrast, daycares are not very numerous and thus not always within walking distance. This neighbourhood is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour close to Autoroute du Souvenir.

Housing

In Lakeshore, almost all buildings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this part of Baie-D'Urfé. Homeowners occupy roughly all of the units in the neighbourhood whereas the rest are rented. Most homes in this area were built prior to the 1960s, during its main construction boom.
