Halpern

Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Halpern is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in Halpern. It is a very short drive to the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, from any home in Halpern, and coming across a parking spot is generally easy. On the other hand, public transit users may find limited choices in this area due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is especially convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. Although the area is flat, and bicycling is more feasible in certain pockets than others, the bicycle is a rather poor method of transportation in Halpern because there are few bike lanes. It is also difficult for pedestrians to navigate this part of Montréal because very few daily needs can be carried out without having to use a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Halpern. Furthermore, families may consider it challenging to access daycares as a pedestrian. In terms of eating, it is very rarely feasible for home buyers in Halpern to shop for groceries by walking. Residents are served by a few restaurants and cafes.

Character

There is a broad selection of green spaces in Halpern. To be more precise, there are a few green spaces close by for residents to unwind in, like Parc-Nature du Bois-de-Liesse, and they are very well-spread out, which results in them being easy to access from the majority of locations in this area. At the same time, most streets have quite bad tree coverage. It remains relatively quiet in this area, due to the presence of very few pedestrians.

Housing

In Halpern, most buildings are townhouses, and the remaining properties are mainly single detached homes. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood has occurred after the year 2000. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder.
