Transportation

This area enables homeowners to travel using several alternative methods of transportation. Homeowners can count on public transit to travel in Place Vertu. More precisely, residents benefit from around 10 bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Place Vertu is also a fairly convenient part of Montréal for pedestrians; many day-to-day needs can be met by walking. It is difficult to move around by bicycle in Place Vertu since the cycling network is not very comprehensive. Nonetheless, biking is more practical in some sectors than others, and there are few hills to challenge cyclists.

Residents have access to a good number of nearby clothing stores. However, there are no primary schools in this neighbourhood.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Place Vertu, as well as some areas with a vibrant atmosphere. To be more precise, although this part of the city does not contain any public green spaces, parks are especially well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, making them easy to get to. At the same time, most streets have fairly bad tree coverage. Lastly, thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, this part of Montréal remains relatively quiet, although those who are near Autoroute Félix-Leclerc may experience more noise.

Housing

Small apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing most dwellings in Place Vertu, and the remaining properties are mainly single detached homes and townhouses. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Renters occupy around 60% of the units in the neighbourhood while owners occupy the remainder. This area did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in Place Vertu was spread throughout multiple decades in recent history.
