Transportation

Travelling by car is very convenient in this neighbourhood. It is a very short drive to the closest highway, such as Autoroute Jean-Lesage, from anywhere in Fatima, and it is straightforward to park. On the other hand, the public transit service in Fatima is not especially frequent. Thankfully, property owners benefit from around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are usually nearby. This neighbourhood is quite amenable to bicycling because riding is made easier by the generally flat terrain, and there are a good number of bike lanes. It is challenging for people walking to navigate this neighbourhood since running common errands is at times difficult.

Services

Reaching the nearest grocery store by walking is an option for some, but not all, property owners in this part of Longueuil. There are also a few opportunities for those who care about restaurants in close proximity. As far as education is concerned, in Fatima, families will generally be able to reach primary schools on foot. In contrast, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood.

Character

Fatima is a good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. There is a small amount of greenery in this area; to be more specific, residents will find that few tree-lined streets are around. Nonetheless, it is very easy to reach public green spaces from most locations within the neighbourhood, since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to check out, like Îles de Boucherville. This area is quiet overall, as the streets are reasonably peaceful - although that is not the case near Autoroute Transcanadienne, Autoroute René-Lévesque or the railway line.

Housing

In Fatima, many dwellings are small apartment buildings, and the remaining houses are mainly single detached homes. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. About 60% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters while the rest are occupied by owners. Roughly 40% of homes in this neighbourhood were built in the 1980s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
