Malden

The neighbourhood of Malden is part of the city of Windsor, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Windsor metropolitan area.

Transportation

Malden is an extraordinarily convenient part of Windsor for driving. The majority of real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 401, and it is especially convenient to come across a parking spot. In contrast, public transit users may find very few options in Malden due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. Travelling on foot is not very convenient for residents in Malden because running common errands is at times challenging. However, this neighbourhood is reasonably bicycling-friendly as there are a fair number of bike lanes, and there are a limited number of elevation changes.

Services

In vast majority cases, a vehicle is required in this area to reach the nearest supermarket. There are a few opportunities for those who care about close by restaurants and cafes. With respect to education, families will appreciate that wherever their property is situated in Malden, schools and daycares are nearby.

Character

One of the highlights of Malden is its great variety of green spaces. There are around 20 parks nearby for residents to check out, including Ojibway Prarie Provincial Nature Reserve and Tall Grass Heritage, and they are very well-situated, making it very easy to access them from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood. It is relatively serene in this part of the city, since there are very few pedestrians.

Housing

Malden experienced its most significant building boom after the year 2000, so most of the available housing stock is from this era. In this area, almost all buildings are single detached homes, and the remaining houses are mainly townhouses. Homeowners occupy nearly 175% of the units in Malden and renters occupy the remainder. This neighbourhood also has a selection of housing size options; there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this area.
