Scarborough is a former municipality within Toronto, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of the city enables homeowners to move around by a variety of means of transportation. The public transit system in Scarborough is practical. In particular, residents are served by various rapid transit stations with access to the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth). Commuters benefit from the Kennedy, Scarborough and Milliken on the Lakeshore East and Stouffville. There are over 50 bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. Scarborough will also attract physically active house buyers since it is reasonably suitable for walking; many daily errands can be run on foot, and numerous businesses are reasonably nearby. The bicycle is a fairly good means of transportation in Scarborough.

With regards to eating, the closest supermarket in Scarborough is typically only a short walk away. The character of Scarborough is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. This area is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Finally, the greenery in this part of the city is quite prominent; access to public green spaces in the former municipality, such as Trca Lands and Scarboro Golf and Country Club, is very easy since there are over 800 of them close by for residents to check out. Furthermore, residents will find that the majority of streets have reasonably good tree coverage.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing around one third of dwellings in Scarborough, while large apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Roughly one third of properties in this former municipality were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
