The former municipality of Old Toronto is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This former municipality presents homeowners with several alternative methods of transportation. Old Toronto is an extremely pleasant part of Toronto for pedestrians; most common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle, and there are also many businesses in proximity. Riding a bicycle is quite popular in this part of the city because Old Toronto features a good cycling infrastructure, and there is usually a bike-share station in proximity. With a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth) and Line 1 (Yonge-University), and over 100 nearby bus lines, the public transit system in Old Toronto is especially practical. Commuting by car is also easy in this part of the city. The majority of real estate listings are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as Allen Expressway.

Services

In this former municipality, families will almost always be able to reach schools and daycares on foot. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. Concerning eating, it is especially easy to access both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from most houses for sale in Old Toronto. Danforth Avenue is among the best streets for food stores. Furthermore, this area is a fairly good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe.

Old Toronto has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Finding things to do is very easy in this part of Toronto. The streets are usually busy with people, there is an extensive selection of entertainment venues, and with its over 200 bars, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located very close by. Yonge Street in particular offers a good selection of bars. Old Toronto is reasonably quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic, however noise can be problematic near one of the railway lines, one of the 3 airports (Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport,Toronto / City Centre Water Aerodrome,Toronto (Hospital For Sick Children) Heliport), Allen Expressway or Sherbourne Lakeshore. The greenery in this area is quite prominent; there are over 600 public green spaces nearby for residents to discover, including Rosedale Ravine Lands and Riverdale Park East, and they are very well-spread out, making them very easy to get to. Residents will also find that the majority of streets have fairly good tree coverage.

Housing
