Woodlands is very car friendly. Coming across a place to park is quite easy, and the majority of real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 401. However, the public transit system in Woodlands is sometimes poor. Thankfully, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically nearby. Woodlands is not very bike-friendly as there are a fair number of hills for cyclists to brave, and the bicycling network is not very well-developed. Thankfully, riding a bike is more feasible in certain areas than others. There are also relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Woodlands, even though most day-to-day needs are easy to meet on foot.

There are also a limited number of options for those who appreciate close by restaurants and cafes. In terms of education, parents and their kids will welcome the proximity to schools and daycares, which are within walking distance from most homes for sale in this area.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Woodlands. Although this part of the city is not home to any parks, public green spaces are especially well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, which results in them being easy to access from a large number of locations in the neighbourhood. This area is relatively quiet, due to the presence of few pedestrians, although noise levels are higher closer to the railway line or Highway 401.

Housing

In Woodlands, about 60% of buildings are single detached homes, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. Roughly 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the dwellings in Woodlands while the rest are rented.
