The neighbourhood of Stevenson is part of the city of Oshawa, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Oshawa metropolitan area.

Transportation

Stevenson is especially car friendly. Many homes for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401, and it is very convenient to find a place to park. However, the public transit service in Stevenson is not particularly frequent. Nevertheless, there is the Durham College Oshawa on the Lakeshore East. There are approximately 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Bicycling is at times challenging in Stevenson because there are a fair number of elevation changes, and there are few bike lanes. Nevertheless, certain bike-friendly areas exist. Travelling by foot in Stevenson is also not very popular, despite the fact that meeting day-to-day needs is convenient.

In all cases, a car is required to purchase groceries. Nevertheless, pharmacies are typically straightforward to reach on foot and provide some basic food items.
