Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Westmount is a neighbourhood within Oakville, Ontario.

Transportation

This part of the town is very car friendly. It is convenient to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway. In contrast, Westmount is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually very close. The bike is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in Westmount as the bicycling infrastructure is rather limited, and the topography is not particularly flat. This area is also not especially convenient for walking as running daily errands is sometimes challenging.

Daycares and schools are convenient to access on foot from anywhere in Westmount. Concerning eating, the nearest supermarket in this part of Oakville is typically only a reasonably short walk away. There are also a limited number of options for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

There are approximately 30 parks close by for residents to visit, including West Oak Trails Community Park and Garth Webb Secondary School, making them very easy to access. This neighbourhood is also reasonably quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic.

Large apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing most dwellings in Westmount, and the rest of the properties are mainly single detached homes and townhouses.
