Clarkson

Clarkson is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Clarkson is especially car friendly. It is easy to park, and nearby highways, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, are very easy to access from anywhere in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, public transit riders may have few choices in Clarkson by reason of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. It is challenging to commute by bike in this area as cyclists encounter quite a few slopes, and the bicycling network is sometimes poor. Walking in this part of the city is also not very popular, despite the fact that running daily errands is easy without needing to use a vehicle.

Services

The closest supermarket in this part of the city is typically only a short trip away. As far as education is concerned, it is a short stroll to reach both primary and secondary schools from anywhere in Clarkson. Parents benefit from public and private high schools. In contrast, there are only a few daycares and accordingly they can be a long walk away.

Character

A highlight of Clarkson is its vast selection of green spaces. Numerous locations in the neighbourhood have fairly good access to parks, like Iona Secondary (9-12) (Cs), since there are a few of them nearby for residents to enjoy. This area is a wonderful neighbourhood for those who don't mind a bit of noise, as traffic during busy hours can occasionally be loud.

Housing

Clarkson experienced its main construction boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available properties are from this era. The housing stock of this part of the city is composed primarily of single detached homes and townhouses. Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the units in Clarkson and 10% are rented. This neighbourhood also has a choice of unit sizes; notably, this part of the city is good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes.
