The car is very often the best approach to navigate this part of the city. Most of the street network is appropriate for driving, and it is a very short car ride to the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, from any home in Clarkson. On the other hand, travelling by transit can be sometimes difficult in this area as a result of the service's low frequency. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. This area is not very amenable to biking as there are quite a few elevation changes, and the bicycling network is not especially comprehensive. Walking is also not very popular in Clarkson, even though running daily errands is convenient.

Character

One of the highlights of Clarkson is its extensive selection of green spaces. Many locations within the neighbourhood have fairly good access to parks, including Iona Secondary (Cs), since there are a few of them nearby for residents to relax in. This area is a wonderful neighbourhood for those who don't mind a little noise, as traffic can occasionally be loud during rush hour.

The predominant housing types in Clarkson are single detached homes and row houses. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood occurred between 1960 and 1980. This part of Mississauga offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About 90% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented.
